The F-GAS officer is a professional figure, either natural or legal, responsible for the technical management of refrigeration equipment that uses specific fluorinated greenhouse gases, as required by Regulation (EU) No. 517/2014.
His or her role includes monitoring leaks in devices with a minimum charge of 5 tons of CO2 equivalent of fluorinated gases, excluding foams, unless they are hermetically sealed equipment, marked as such, and with a gas quantity of less than 10 tons of CO2 equivalent.
In addition to leakage control, it deals with activities such as gas recovery, installation, repair, maintenance, servicing, and decommissioning of equipment.
