FORMONT, a training agency accredited to the Piedmont Region, present in Piedmont with nine Operating Centers, to which is added the regional office in Venaria Reale, specializing in the training of mountain professionals and ACS Italia, a publicly controlled Italian certification body that certifies skills and professionalism, kick off the strategic plan for the certification of Mountain professionals.
The first accredited professional paths, in addition to the Forest Fire Personnel project, which has already started, are:
- SKI PISTE DIRECTOR (downhill, cross-country and snowboard)
- ROPEWAY AGENT
- ROPEWAY ENGINEER
- ROPEWAY SERVICE CHIEF
The project stems from the need to manage even more safely the activities carried out by mountain professionals, with a special focus on personnel working on ski lifts and ski slopes, to create a profile recognized not only regionally but nationally, and to respond to requests received from other mountain regions.
On July 12, Certificates of Deposit of Disciplines were handed out at FORMONT's headquarters in Venaria Reale, Turin.
Present for FORMONT at the official handover were President Roberto Vaglio, Director Carla Perno and the Contact Person for Safety Training in the Ski Area of the Center for Advanced Training in Mountain Professions, Elena Grupallo; for ACS Italia, President Carlo Perini and CEO Massimo Dutto.
With the filing of the Specifications, the implementation of the dedicated qualified training begins, at the end of which the certification of skills will be carried out.
In view of the upcoming Winter Olympics Milan Cortina 2026, this important all-Italian project starts.
